Hey Guys n Gals,

 

My name is Carl Van Winkle.  I was in a life threatening car accident on March 19th, 2009.  No one thought I would survive.   I was in a coma for nearly a month and  spent the next 6 months in Nebraska at two different rehabilitation hospitals - Madonna and Quality Living.  Five years later, I am still improving, still doing therapy, and will never give up on anything.  

 

I lost my voice to dysarthria, the most difficult speech impediment to ovecome, for over two years and when it finally came back I decided to become an inspirational speaker and use my story to help others. I want my story to help people look at their problems more positively and appreciate the little things in life way more.  Never count yourself out of anything.
